GAP and GQ get it on

Everyone loves a collaboration so when GAP and GQ got into bed it was always going to get interesting. From 2007 they have been working together and this year is no different. The one-of-a-kind assortment for 2012 includes accessories to outerwear, showcases each rising designer’s signature spin on iconic menswear pieces.

With price points starting at £15 for essential items such as boxer briefs and ranging up to over £200 for more indulgent pieces like a leather bomber jacket, the collection is available at select Gap stores worldwide and online at Gap.com. Check out some of the highlights below:

  • Johan Lindeberg’s BLK DNM celebrates the new uniform of the way-downtown set, where black jeans share sartorial space with tuxedo jackets and leather bombers.
  • Ian Velardi who fuses active sportswear with classic tailoring techniques to form his signature uptown-meets-downtown aesthetic.
  • Mark McNairy New Amsterdam turns classic American sportswear on its ear. Military, workwear and athletic influences mesh in his rebellious and playful collections.
  • Twin brothers Ariel and Shimon Ovadia, of Ovadia & Sons, bring fresh eyes to old-world tailoring by updating classic menswear items with unexpected details and pops of color.
  • Saturdays NYC, founded by Morgan Collett, Josh Rosen, and Colin Tunstall, brings surf style to urban dwellers with designs equally suited for sandy beaches and concrete sidewalks.
  • Todd Snyder’s designs reside at the intersection of rugged and refined. He makes clothes for the man who wears a jacket and tie because he wants to.

Welcome to Maketh The Man, a lifestyle and travel blog by Callum Watt and Anton Welcome.

Maketh The Man launched in 2010 as a home to showcase male jewellery. From the best chunky necklaces to our favourite signet rings. Whilst the Mark Twain quote does say "Clothes maketh the man", we actually think its the finer details that make an outfit really pop. Hence why we decided to focus our attention on how to accessorize your wardrobe.

We quickly expanded our coverage to include all accessories from the best footwear, to the most stylish bags and pocket squares.

Today Maketh The Man has grown to be one of the UKs top male lifestyle blogs covering a range of different categories. From the greatest holiday destinations to the tastiest cocktail or finest whisky recommendations, with a healthy dose of technology and grooming thrown in.
