Bar Diaries Vol 13 – The Auchentoshan and Ale Serve

Our bar diaries returns, as thirst for finding more out of London’s vast catalogue of bars and restaurants. our continuous hunt for the best places in London, with the best blends of spirits ready to serve, we take ourselves over to the east end once again, for a new beverage discovery.

Our location within the east end has to remain discreet but what we can tell you, is the location is not far from Hoxton station and the experience is totally worthwhile.

As we arrive in east of London we discover the Auchentoshan whisky, a whisky forged from the fires of the industrial revolution, through the sweat of its Glaswegian forefathers. Thankfully there’s no sweat needed anymore in the distillation process, but the determination and passion still very much resonates within the brand. Triple distilled makes Auchentoshan so great and so unique, as it’s the only single malt in the world, triple distilled right down to the last drop.

Maketh-the-man-Anton-Welcome-Auchentoshan-Four-Mugs-Two BottlesThe most interesting difference for us with Auchentoshan is that the consistency is not the end goal. Now some whisky lovers out there would deem this as almost sacrilege, but the world of whisky changes ever so much and variety is the spice of life.

From a tasting point of view the Auchentoshan serve is very punchy but in a good way, complementing other flavours rather than creating a mouthful of contradiction.

Your whisky is best enjoyed just the way you like it. That’s why the Auchentoshan & Ale serve can be made to suit your own taste.

Auchentoshan themselves say “We’re not bound by old rules; we’re happy to mix or stand alone. We do things differently”. And with that in mind, why not try the serve topped up with a beer of your choice for a different taste each time.
