Celebrate Burns Night Right with The Glenlivet Founders Reserve

One of our favourite times in the year is soon coming, the famous Burns Night. Falling on January 25th comes our chance to celebrate Scotland’s famous chap Robert Burns, with some wonderful whisky and an abundance of Ceilidhs dancing.

And what better whisky to sink your teeth into, than a few drams of The Glenlivet whisky. Moments like these are the ones that we cherish the most, so why not make those memories even better, raising a glass of the good stuff.

For those new to The Glenlivet whisky, you’ve come onto the blog at the right time. The Glenlivet is one of the Scotch whisky’s that we enjoy greatly and have done so, for many years. Our choice for Burns night this year is their Founder’s Reserve, the Speyside single malt that started it all.

A skillful selection of casks help create the signature fruity notes that make The Glenlivet, fired up with the creamy sweetness from the selected use of American first-fill casks. In result what we get is amazing aromas of citrus fruit, with notes of oranges, pears and toffee apples.

If you’re keen with whisky then we recommend going for it neat at the start, it’s the ideal way to let your nose and palate become one with the new liquid in your life.

If you’ve thought about it and going in neat really isn’t your thing then like most whisky’s, how about throwing in a splash of water or adding a cube of ice. The water will help to break the strength slightly, but also open up the flavours of the whisky which your palate will appreciate.

But last but not least. If both of those are just not up your street, then why not try this epic cocktail we’ve been tinkering with from the The Glenlivet team. We guarantee that this will most certainly not disappoint.
